  1. P-80 GROUND ATTACK TRAINING
  2.  
  3. Being jet propelled, the P-80 did not 
  4. suffer from engine torque or coolant 
  5. radiator vulnerability problems like its 
  6. piston-engined counterparts.  This 
  7. enabled the Shooting Star to be an 
  8. extremely stable gun platform.  The P-80 
  9. was to become an accomplished ground 
  10. attack/support fighter because it could hit 
  11. its target before enemy ground units 
  12. knew it was coming, and then get away 
  13. quickly before antiaircraft fire could be 
  14. successfully aimed at it.

  16.                     YOUR MISSION
  17.  
  18. Your P-80 is lined up for a bombing run 
  19. on Frankfurt bridge.  To get a feel for the 
  20. P-80's ground attack capabilities, try a few 
  21. different tactics to hit the bridge, including 
  22. dive bombing and low level approaches.
  23.  
  24. Once you've hit the bridge, fly NW to 
  25. attack Wiesbaden Luftwaffe airfield.  Be 
  26. alert for enemy aircraft operating from this 
  27. base, and engage them if necessary.
  28.  
  29. Your P-80 has unlimited ammunition, 
  30. including bombs.
  31.  
  32. Your mission will not end automatically.  
  33. You must choose to quit.  Please see your 
  34. reference guide for instruction on how to 
  35. quit, as well as information on other 
  36. controls.
  37.
